Data quality is a key consideration for those undertaking research studies, it has been asserted.

In an article for online resource Financial Express, sector commentator Suhale Kapoor said that the internet can be a vital tool in terms of ensuring that data is of good quality.

"By using the internet, combined with the use of cleaning/intelligent algorithms to screen out bad data, researchers have the ability to determine ideal time-spend for each survey section," the industry analyst stated.

Mr Kapoor noted that the internet can also be a useful tool in terms of ensuring that turnaround time on research projects is kept as low as possible, as web panels can allow for multiple simultaneous interviews with respondents.

The analyst concluded by stating that typical data collection using the internet can half the time it takes to acquire information when compared to traditional paper-based services.
