Data quality sector 'has experienced exciting progress'
Oct 30 2009, 13:30 PM
Steady progress has been made in the data quality sector in recent times, an expert has asserted.
Writing for Data Quality Pro, David Loshin said that for a while, the majority of solutions were focused on matching and profiling, as well as information relating to customers' names and addresses.
"Modern products now resemble innovative solution development platforms and data quality toolbenches. They now offer a rich palette of data management functionality with which to build new product solutions," he commented.
Nowadays, most companies specialising in data quality solutions identify problems and come up with innovative ways of dealing with them, Mr Loshin explained.
In related news, Jack Olson wrote in the International Association for Information and Data Quality's October newsletter that companies should focus on their information capture processes in order to keep inaccuracies to an absolute minimum.
