Irish information services company wins data strategy contract
Apr 29 2009, 14:09 PM
An Irish company is to implement a data strategy for a leading international law firm's European presence in a deal worth 1 million.
The contract was brought about by the National Mission Critical Facilities, which is tasked with sourcing venues for a range of clients, reports siliconrepublic.com.
Servecentric was commissioned largely because of its recent ISO 27001 accreditation, making it the only independent Irish data managed services company to receive the certification.
Kirk Killian, Senior Vice-President at the Partners National Mission Critical Facilities, told the news provider: "The data centre facilities in Ireland are among the best in the world, passing our most rigorous and exhaustive audits."
He added that the knowledge economy in Ireland, coupled with the skills of the workforce and its strategic location in Europe, is making it an increasingly attractive option for clients.
ISO 27001 is one of a series of minimum standards in data management and best practice in data quality, laid out by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission.
