New data dictionary launched by SmartStream
Mar 30 2010, 12:23 PM
A new data dictionary has been launched by SmartStream Technologies as part of its DClear Reference Data Utility.
According to Finextra, it aims to provide a structured information portal and aid the translation of documentation by organising data into logical categories.
"It simplifies the process of integrating new data providers and feeds into the client's environment and improves data quality by reviewing, researching and verifying vendor feed documentation to ensure complete accuracy," the news source noted.
John Mason, Chief Executive of DClear, said that building a data dictionary internally can be extremely costly for an organisation, both in terms of time and capital.
Companies using this technology can improve data quality and achieve global coverage requirements without spending over the odds, he added.
Established in 2000, SmartStream Technologies has grown rapidly since then and was acquired in 2007 DIFC Investments, the investment arm of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
