New Holland and Barrett rewards card linked to email marketing
Dec 20 2011, 10:57 AM
Holland and Barrett has initiated a new rewards scheme that will help it boost its email marketing campaigns, linking spending patterns to the customer.
The new card reflects a growing trend among retailers who are attempting to improve their customer data management. Using reward schemes such as this allows retailers to gather customer information, and distribute rewards based on their information.
The data gathered from the points scheme, which can be used online, by mail order and in stores, will be used in email campaigns that will reward customers with benefits tailored to their needs.
Following the trends of other retail outlets, the email activated store card will collect points that are earned from each purchase. In this case, the customer earns four points for every pound spent. Coupons are then sent to the corresponding email address that can be used in store.
The customer can also sign up for Rewards for Life offers when they agree to email updates. This encourages increased interaction on behalf of the customer, and increased data quality for the retailer.
