Online advertising 'provides strong return on investment'
Jun 30 2010, 11:40 AM
An increasing number of companies are investing in online advertising as it provides a steady return on investment.
This is according to Karin von Abrams, Senior Analyst at eMarketer, who said that spending in this area is likely to rise by around 7% this year.
"The UK is a mature market for online advertising and the internet is firmly established as an accountable channel that can deliver excellent return on investment," she commented.
Ms Von Abrams noted that industries such as telecoms, entertainment and the media were the first to use significant chunks of their marketing budgets online.
"Many UK merchants have also improved the user-friendliness and security features of their sites in recent months," she added.
Speaking recently, Di Forster, Director at SEO Junkies, said it has become almost unavoidable for businesses not to use digital marketing.
Companies need to diversify if they want to bring in new blood and attract younger tech-savvy consumers, she added.
