Online marketing 'enables businesses to target right people'
Jul 23 2010, 12:00 PM
Advertising online enables companies to target the right people.
This is according to Jamie Estrin, Managing Director of Web TV Enterprise, who noted that online marketing is "on an upward curve" at the moment.
"Consumers, especially young people don't expect to pay for content because they've grown up with the internet - especially the 16-24 demographic who want free content understand the need for it to be paid for by online video advertising," he commented.
Mr Estrin pointed out that people watching television are exposed to hundreds of adverts that are not relevant to them, adding that the targeting opportunities are much better online.
Speaking recently, Guy Phillips, Chief Executive of the Internet Advertising Bureau, said the growth in online marketing has been "unprecedented" in recent years.
He added that the channel has many advantages for businesses, including the fact that campaigns can be adjusted easily.
